We have made arrangements with ‘FLOWERS ON MAIN’ for ordering Easter lilies. By ordering through the church they will furnish a plant for $14.00. We welcome other lilies, plants, or flowers to make 2019 the finest Easter Garden we’ve seen yet.
Please have your other plants to the church by 8:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20th, and your lilies ordered by Monday, April 8th.

URLC has been benefactor of generous gifts from several estates and through personal donations. These gifts are in a trust fund. Each year the Trust Fund Board is responsible for disbursement of interest earned from these gifts. Grant applications will be available at church office or on the table outside the office.
Completed applications must be submitted to the church office by
April 21, 2019.
The “Annual Meeting” will be taking place in the reception hall at 9:30am, & we wanted to make sure Teachers & Shepherds would be able to attend this meeting so we have NO Sunday School scheduled this upcoming Sunday, January 27th. Join us to go over our congregational report for 2018, membership numbers, finance reports, and updates about council & committee accomplishments.

WANTED: MEMBERS INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE CHURCH COUNCIL
After the January 27 Annual meeting there will be three 3 year terms and one 2 year term open. Joan Henriksen, Tony Stensland & Roger Rueckert end their terms and Alex Moreno will be leaving after serving one year. There are a total of nine council member positions and so it is important to fill these
positions. The nominating committee members who will recommend members to fill the positions are Shirley Buck, Rene Arendt & Mike Brengman. Please contact one of these committee members or let JoAnne know at the church office if you are interested in serving. Thank you for your cooperation.
Pastor Marggi reported on her continuing ed trip to Cuba and noted that she will present highlights at one of the upcoming fellowship forums.
Roger Rueckert noted that the annual report preview is scheduled for Sunday January 20 at the fellowship forum with the annual report business meeting set for Sunday January 27 also at the fellowship forum.
It was noted that the church staff evaluations will be conducted during December.
The council reviewed a recommendation from the Southeastern Minnesota Synod that the United Redeemer Lutheran church increase their membership fee from $6000 to $7200 for 2019. It will be reviewed during the budget process.
The snow removal contract for this winter was approved for Countryside Lawn & Landscape of Zumbrota.
The council reviewed the outcome of the council open forum held November 11 and thought the communication process was well received. Strong consideration will be given to scheduling such meetings next year.
